My Great Great Grandfather was named Lorenzo Harris Sr., he was a prominent African-American resident of Asbury Park, N.J, he was a Sand Sculpture in Asbury Park Beach from 1916 – 1946. his sand sculptures were very elaborate he was married to Kathryn Harris (whom my mother is now named after). aside from being an artist he was a writer, great speaker and was into politics.  He was an illustrator for the NAACP Crisis Magazine; arranged for W. B. Dubois to speak in AP in 1930 and hosted Dubois at his home on several occasions.

My Great Grandfather is Dr. Lorenzo Harris, II. was the medical doctor and the first black city Councilman of Asbury Park, New Jersey. My Grandmother, Gertrude Harris, was a homemaker  & educator in the Asbury Park School district and mother to 3 girls, and my grandfather, Lorenzo W. Harris III. My great Aunt Kay is our family historian and helped me with my research.
